A day in a new trainee hearing dog’s life.

This is a follow-up to the previous blog post What dog are we training? The Poodle Dog! – Your Hearing Dog, Inc., where I introduced the characteristics of the poodle dog like our new hearing dog in training, Sandy.

What is Sandy up to?

In this image, starting from the left, you see Carmen (the breeder), Kathy (from the Hearing Loss Association of America), David Allery (founder of Your Hearing Dog Inc.), and Sandy on the leash. They were at Cerberus Brewery in Colorado Springs for a community event to raise money and awareness for YHD, as well as to introduce Kathy to Sandy.

Meet Sandy! He was nine weeks old when adopted on May 20, 2024. He just recently graduated stage one of the 14-month-long hearing dog boot camp. They schedule a training session at least once per week.

In this image, you see Sandy in Kathy’s arms and David Allery posing next to them.

Sandy looks like a big boy, but he is just a puppy! He is a beautiful puppy enjoying his time out and about with his new handler, Kathy, and friends to raise awareness and funds for YHD.

We hope you all had a good time!
