Join Us for Giving Tuesday: Your Impact Matters

All Day

This Giving Tuesday, December 3, let’s come together to make a difference. Even though Giving Tuesday is 12/3, our event is ongoing so you can make an impact now, if you like.

Your Hearing Dog is dedicated to providing specially trained service dogs to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community as well as veterans with the same challenges. Your generous donation will help us:

  • Provide the specialized training needed for our four-footed heroes. It costs slightly more than $20K to train ONE dog. Your generosity, large or small, makes a difference in two lives.
  • Provide the care needed to keep our service dogs in top health (food, vaccines, etc)

Click the button below to read more about our Giving Tuesday event. You can do one of three things:

  • Donate
  • Form a team and compete for awesome prizes, including a complimentary vacation. If you’d like to form a team then contact YHD for more details.
  • Share this event on your Facebook (or other social media)

[Kathy’s story] The above picture is of YHD’s first hearing dog hero, Sandy. Kathy is our first hearing dog recipient. She’s associated with the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA). Read all about Kathy and Sandy, how their training is progressing and what a hearing dog means to someone who needs a little help with the sounds around them.

Hearing dogs have even saved lives. Imagine being deaf and having a smoke alarm go off in your house. Not being able to hear the alarm would normally be a real concern for a deaf person. With a trained hearing dog that concern is alleviated. The dog is trained to jump up on the owner and then get down on its belly and crawl around on the floor. This signals the owner that the alarm has gone off and it’s time to exit the building. An absolutely amazing site to witness.

Will you please help us provide more of these wonderful dogs to the DHH community? YHD was recently awarded a grant from the Colorado Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf Blind for $10K. You can view the award by clicking here (scroll down to 2024/25 award winners). This will definitely assist in our efforts but is just the beginning. Your contribution is needed and will truly make a difference!
